Multi-Language Settings in Fly Bundles

Multi-Language Settings in Fly Bundles

This feature allows you to customize the text strings displayed on all app components (Bundle Widget, Upsell Bundle, Offer Widget, and Offer Button) and provide translated versions of these strings for stores operating in multiple markets.

1. Customizing Text Fields

To modify the default text displayed on your widgets:

  1. Navigate to the Language Settings menu.
  2. Locate the specific text field you wish to edit (e.g., "Add to Cart", "Total Price", or "Widget Heading").
  3. Enter your preferred text into the field.
    • Example: Changing "Add to Cart" to "Add to Basket".
  1. Click Save.
  2. The changes will immediately reflect in the live preview and on the storefront.

2. Adding Multilingual Translations

If your store has multiple languages enabled via Shopify Markets, you can configure unique translations for each locale:

  1. Go to Language Settings.
  2. Select the Language Dropdown (defaulted to English).
  3. Choose the target language you wish to configure (e.g., French or German).
  4. Translate the available fields into the selected language.
  5. Click Save.

3. Core Logic & System Behavior

  • Locale Detection: The app detects the visitor's browser or store-selected locale.
  • IF a visitor's locale matches a configured language in the app settings, THEN the system displays the specific translations saved for that language.
  • IF no specific translation exists for the visitor's locale, THEN the system defaults to the primary language configuration (English).
  • Switching Contexts: You can toggle between languages in the settings menu at any time to update strings for different regions without affecting other translations.

4. Constraints & Prerequisites

  • Scope: Translations apply to the Bundle Widget, Upsell Bundle, Offer Widget, and Offer Buttons. Ensure all sections are updated when adding a new language to maintain a consistent UI.
  • Shopify Compatibility: Multilingual options in the app are designed to work in alignment with the languages enabled in your Shopify store settings.
  • Manual Entry: Translations must be entered manually for each language added; the app does not automatically translate text via machine translation.
